Ronnie Jean Blackford October 4, 1922-July 6, 2022 Wenatchee, Washington Ronnie Jean Blackford - Mom, Grandma, GG - passed away at Wenatchee, WA on July 6, 2022. She was 99 years old. Ronnie was born to Casper and Eva Flick on October 4, 1922, in Madison, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Franklin High School, Seattle in 1940. After living in San Diego for many years, she moved to central Washington in 1973. Ronnie loved working as a waitress, enjoying some verbal sparring with her regulars and ensuring that all her customers received great service. Many customers asked to sit at her tables. She was always there to help newer and younger waitresses learn the fine skills of excellent customer service. Even though she had to stretch the truth to claim she was 4'11'', she could still balance and carry more dishes than most. She loved working in the food industry so when she left waitress work, she began doing food demos for local grocery stores until finally retiring at age 89. She continued to live an active and healthy life for many more years. She will be especially remembered for her work ethic, quick wit, and sense of humor. Ronnie is survived by her children: Terry Stam (Carol) of Phoenix, Debra Benbow (Barry) and Shawnee Duncan (Arnold) of Wenatchee, and Myron Stam of San Diego. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: John Stam, Jesse, Aaron, and Shannon Benbow, and Jason, Jeff, Jerrid, and Justin Duncan; as well as 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Blackford. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Mom cared deeply for children and children's hospitals were always her favorite charities of hers.
