Patsy June Drake

Patsy June Drake passed away peacefully at home April 12, 2012. She was 74. Patsy "Pat" spent her last days surrounded by her family, loyal friends and a loving God. Her trust in Him and hope for salvation brought her comfort. Born and welcomed as Patsy June Trulson, January 16, 1938 in rural Agnos Arkansas, she was the only child of Ralph and Sally (Manry) Trulson. Patsy attended school in Ash Flat and at the age of 8 she began making summer trips with her family to work the orchards of the Wenatchee area. Pat's family made the commitment to sell everything and move to Washington for good when she was 15. She graduated from Wenatchee High school in June of 1956. At the age of 5 she said "I'm going to marry that boy, "Ivan Drake". When she was 17 he was proud to take Patsy as his wife at Coeur D'Alene, ID on November 12, 1955. They have been happily married 57 years and have three married children; Vickie (Mark) Neher, Melissa (Jeff) Isringhaus, and Scott (Denise) Drake, all of Wenatchee. Grandma Pat was a good example and generous to her six grandchildren; Jamey (Ashley) Neher, Robin (Caitlin) Neher, Emily Neher, Shantel Isringhaus and Colton and Carmen Drake. Pat was grateful for her extended family; aunts, uncles, and cousins, all held a special place in her heart. She loved her many friends, some lifelong companions and her newest ones, her cats; Tuna and Butterfly. Pat was a conscientious and a hard worker. She held jobs at Blue Ribbon Meats, Sav-Mart and the 88 Cent Store. She picked cherries with her children in July and every fall her husband took his vacation time and they picked apples together. When Pat's children were finally all in school, she went back to school herself attending Wenatchee Valley College to study Business. She liked to remind her children she got straight A's. In 1974, Pat started her career at the Washington State Apple Commission where she became a trusted employee. After 29 years Pat retired as the controller, with a record of perfect State Audits, which she was very proud of. Pat enjoyed books and old movies, gardening, shopping and decorating her home. When her daughters were young she enjoyed sewing the latest fashions for them as well as pajamas for her son. She was quite a cook too - famous for her pecan pies and her biscuits and gravy. Pat was a longtime member of the Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there. In recent years she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The family extends a "Special Thank You" to CWH Home Health and Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous family members. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 17 at 2:00pm, at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Rd., East Wenatchee.
