Leann Dahlquist

Leann Elaine (Halstead) Dahlquist’s journey here on earth came to an end on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Confluence Health’s Central Campus, following a brief struggle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Leann was born in Wenatchee on June 30th, 1955, to E. Maxine and Raymond Halstead, where she joined her older sister Karen. Leann attended Eastmont schools, graduating in 1974. After graduation, Leann worked for a number of local businesses in various roles. She retired from the Eye and Ear Clinic of Wenatchee following an unfortunate back injury. Due to her back injury, Leann had limited mobility, but that didn’t stop her from her daily outings to get the local paper. Until the last few years, it wasn’t uncommon to see her walking around town with her walking stick. Leann may have been small in stature, but she had a personality that left an impression on everyone she met. She wasn’t much for socializing, preferring to keep her circle small, but the relationships she had were very special to her. One particular friend, Lori Gambill, maintained close contact even after moving to Spokane. Lori made several trips to spend time with Leann during her final weeks, and those visits brought Leann a significant amount of joy and peace. In 1987, Leann met her very best friend, Scott Elliston. Though their friendship took on many forms over their 39-year relationship, he was her person, and he was by her side until the very end. Together they enjoyed traveling, going for drives around town when it became too challenging for Leann to walk, and spending time with their beloved Boston Terrier dogs. Leann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Karen Morehouse; her nephew, Kevin Morehouse; her niece DeAnna (Marc) Griggs; cousins Patti and Jan Heetland; her very special friends, Lori Gambill and Scott Ellison; her beloved Boston Terrier Snuggles. A Small graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24th, at 1:00pm , at Evergreen Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
