Kelsie Reanne Best

Surrounded with love by her family, Kelsie Reanne Best passed away from complications of Cystic Fibrosis, a disease she fought valiantly against on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Kelsie was born on November 24, 1991 in the Wenatchee Valley to Darrold and Bobbie Best. Here she grew up, graduated from Wenatchee High School, and raised two beautiful children whom her world revolved around, Kyla (eleven) and Shanaya (thirteen). Later, her significant other Kenneth, and his son Jonah became part of her family as well. Kelsie was a "handful" growing up having a free, independent spirit. No matter the path she went down, she always found her way back home to her loving family. The memories made during her final months will especially last forever. Perhaps inspired by being born on Thanksgiving Day, Kelsie loved food and loved even more not worrying about gaining weight. The many family BBQs growing up were also her favorite times. Kelsie loved family trips to the ocean and doing arts and crafts with her children. With the challenges of Cystic Fibrosis, she would have loved to do more, but movie nights and making memories at home were just as special. Overall, spoiling her children was her favorite thing in the world. Kelsie wasn't given the chance to become the woman she might have been if she didn't have Cystic Fibrosis, but she sure did try. She fought many battles with CF for thirty- one years but is now finally resting pain-free. Her absence will be felt forever but so will her love. She will be remembered as many things, a daughter, mother, sister, partner, and friend. But she will also be remembered as the first recipient in 2002 as Chief for a Day for the Ephrata, WA Police Department. She left an impact on the world no matter where she went. Kelsie is survived by her mother Bobbie Best: and daughters Shanaya and Kyla; Stepson Jonah Hartley; significant other Kenneth Hartley; Niece Mackenzie Best; Grandfather Ivon Slone Sr; Grandmother Patty Baker; Aunts Sue (Cory) Horn, Jacki (Kary) Eaton, Deanna McDaniel, Richelle (Jason) Carter, Janice (Jerry) Rogers, Connie (Toby) Teller and Shelly (Jeff) Day; Uncles Randy (Kim) Anderson, Ivon Jr (Josefina) Slone, Tony (Cindy) Grissom, and Roger Grissom. Kelsie was preceded in death by her father Darrold Best; Sister Heather Best; Grandmothers Betty Hecht and Elizabeth Best; Grandfathers Darrold Best and Richard Weiler; and Uncles Craig Huey and Jeff Best. There will be a ceremony at Eastmont Baptist Church on September 16 at 11 a.m. Anyone wishing to send flowers or donate can deliver them to the church the morning of the service at 400 S Kentucky Ave, East Wenatchee, WA 98802. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel East Wenatchee and Cashmere.
