Janet Lynn Jorgenson

Janet Lynn Jorgenson January 5, 1950-July 17, 2018 Janet Lynn Jorgenson, 68, of East Wenatchee and former longtime resident of Cashmere, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1950, in Yakima, WA, to the late Ken and Betty Jane (Henderson) Krogstad. She attended Washougal High School and then Pasco High School where Janet met and married Dennis Henne. They had three children together, Michael, Judi and April. They later moved to Leavenworth and then finally settled in Cashmere, where they raised their three children. Dennis and Janet divorced in 1988. In 1993 Janet moved back to the Vancouver area that she loved so much as a teenager. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and began working in private home health care. She loved taking care of others and loved her work. While living in Vancouver she met and married Dwayne "Wayne" Jorgenson. They were married on January 28, 1994. In 2014 Janet and Wayne moved to East Wenatchee to be closer to their family, especially their grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and being in nature. Some of her children's fondest memories are of picnics, camping trips and drives in the mountains. She instilled a love of nature in all of her children that has strengthened their relationships and still brings them together for annual family camping trips which now include all of their children. Janet also loved home decorating, reading Anne Rule and other crime novels. She was a talented sketch artist who loved to draw while sitting on the couch. She loved spending time along the river banks of the Wenatchee and Washougal Rivers. She loved the ocean. She and husband Wayne took many trips to Long Beach where they would sit on the beach and watch the sunset and drink wine while talking. She loved spending time with her husband, best friends and grandchildren. Her children will always be grateful for all of the fond outdoor memories they have from her. Sometimes on long drives to explore the mountain roads she would find beautiful meadows or river banks to stop at. She would braid wildflowers into her daughters' hair and make little dolls out of more wildflowers. Janet is survived by her husband, Wayne Jorgenson of East Wenatchee, WA; son, Michael (Laurie) Henne, daughters: Judi (Terry) Berends of East Wenatchee, WA and April (Pearse) Henne-Cashman of Indianola, WA; grandsons, Ty Berends and Jacob Henne; granddaughters: Maddisun and Kierston Cashman and Charli Berends; brothers, Jerome "Jerry" Krogstad and John Douglas Krogstad and sister, Michelle Irvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Judy Carney and Sharron Krogstad.
