Darlene Lynn Yale June 26, 1954 - August 31, 2018 Wenatchee, Washington Darlene Lynn Yale, of Wenatchee, went to be with her Lord on August 31, 2018, at the age of 64, in the arms of her husband, John. Darlene was born in Wenatchee, WA, on June 26, 1954, to Thelma and Richard Winn. Her brother Richard (Rick) and sister Penny soon followed. She attended school in Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High in 1972. Following high school, Darlene married Eldon Ochs. Always wanting to be a mother, Darlene was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jennifer Lynn "Jenny," in 1974. Jenny was her only child and the joy of her life. Jenny married high school sweetheart Jason Mathews in 1997. Unfortunately, Jenny died too young in 2010. Most of Darlene's work life was spent at Chelan County Medical, B&F Distributing, and managing her rental houses. Darlene was the "let's have a good time" part of the Four Musketeers, along with her three long time friends; Kay Troxler, Kathy Anderson and Kathy Dorey. "We experienced many good times together. Our nights out, trips together and shared times are memories that we never got tired of talking about and will forever hold in our hearts. Darlene was a kind, devoted and thoughtful friend. We remaining three love her and will miss her dearly." Darlene met John Yale while out dancing in 2000. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, it was magic. Darlene joked that her guardian angel worked overtime to put them together. They were each other's soul mates. "We shared a love of dancing and travel. It was a running joke that the Friday or Saturday we were not seen out dancing, we were out of town. Then there was the all-night disco in Rio. Married in Jamaica in 2007, our travels took us all over the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and to Eastern and Western Europe. Besides travel, Darlene's other joys were her dogs, remodeling houses and her gardens. Between trips, we remodeled nine old houses together. The last finished in 2017 was a bucket list item for Darlene. Together we designed and built our dream home, gardens and vineyard on "seven acres of dirt" up Squilchuck where she finished her time on earth and went to join her daughter. She is my absolute Love and Light." Darlene faced many serious challenges throughout her life. Through it all and right up to the end, she was resilient, positive and always concerned for those around her. She never lost her faith even in the darkest times. She was the strongest woman in our lives. Darlene will be deeply missed by her husband, John Yale; sister, Penny Winn; brother, Rick Winn; nieces: Amy (Ochs) Eldred and April (Ochs) Moore; best friends: Kathy, Kay and Kathy, and all the others whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, located at 428 King Street, Wenatchee, WA. In lieu of flowers, Darlene would like donations to go to your favorite charity. Hers were American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Smile Train.
