Vickie Sue Villa

Vickie Sue Villa, 60, a longtime Wenatchee resident, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, following a sudden illness. She was born on March 18, 1955 in Wenatchee to the late Alfred and Dess (Berger) Calhoun. She was raised in Wenatchee and attended Whitman Elementary School, Orchard Middle School and Wenatchee High School. She was married to Ray Garcia in 1973 and a short while later they moved to make their home at Worland, Wyoming. They remained in Wyoming until returning to Wenatchee in 1978. Vickie went to work in the local packing sheds in Wenatchee prior to becoming a Legal Secretary and Interpreter at Calbom and Schwab Law Firm. In 1983, She was married to Jessie Villa in Wenatchee. In 1995, she pursued the opportunity to further her education and moved to Tacoma where she attended Evergreen State College. She received her Bachelors Degree and upon returning to Wenatchee, went to work as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for Barrier and Associates. Over time her Rheumatoid Arthritis became disabling and she was forced to retire early. She attended Wenatchee Valley Baptist and Eastmont Baptist Churches. She was big into online gaming and was a member of the Online Gaming Community where she made many friends. Vickie's Love for dogs was unreal, she loved all animals but particularly dogs. She even helped out and worked some at Inn The Doghouse by grooming and cleaning up. She did agility training with all her dogs. She also enjoyed art and excelled at sketches and drawings. Vickie is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Geisha and Michael Killgore, East Wenatchee; one step-granddaughter, Brittany Killgore, Wenatchee; one step-great granddaughter, Jaylynn Morse, Wenatchee, numerous cousins and her miniature schnauzer, "Darby". She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunts and uncles. A Commemoration service for Vickie will be held on Friday afternoon, August 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee.
