Stephen Paul Cox

Stephen (Steve) Cox left this world to join his beloved wife Teresa, on October 11th, 2023 Steve was born in Herlong AFB, CA on August 26th, 1953 to William (Bill) and Mary Cox. Not long after, they relocated back to the Wenatchee area and grew a family that eventually included 6 children. Steve became a graduate of Wenatchee High in 1972. As luck would have it, he then quickly met the love of his life Teresa Bennett. They eventually settled in East Wenatchee and raised 2 sons, where they remained for nearly 20 years. Eventually, opportunities led Steve to relocate to The Dalles, OR, Kennewick, and finally Goldendale, WA. Steve was a legend in the building industry almost his entire life, with stops at Zittings, Marson & Marson, Cannon Lumber, Lumbermens, Probuild, and finally Tum-A-Lum. He cared deeply about the work he did, as well as the customers and colleagues that he spent tireless hours making sure they were taken care of. He retired from this privilege in 2021. Steve loved sports and was very active in both softball and bowling for many years. He also loved hunting with his father and friends, taking his family camping, vintage muscle cars, and just playing catch with both his boys. To his credit, he played a large role in the building of 2 of his homes and would have loved to have made it 3. He had a booming laugh and sense of humor to match, was a skilled handyman, possessed an electric charm, and always made you feel seen and heard. His hard-earned success in life is only eclipsed by a truly profound legacy that leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to not just call him a coworker, teammate, relative or a father, but as a heartfelt friend. Steve is preceded in death by his loving wife Teresa and his parents. He is survived by his sons Jeff and Josh; siblings Susan, Mike (Susan), Jennifer (Scott), Julie, and Robert; grandsons Henry and Oscar; his little buddy Patches as well as many, many loving extended family and friends. Memorial services for Steve will be Friday, November 3rd at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (625 S Elliott Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801) and viewing the previous evening of November 2nd from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel (19 Rock Island Rd, East Wenatchee, WA 98802). Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel East Wenatchee and Cashmere.
