Sharon Lindell Anderson

Sharon Beatrice (Lindell) Anderson, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Born December 11, 1943, in Wenatchee, WA, to Bert and Pearl Lindell, she was the youngest of 5 children. Most of Sharon’s growing up years took place on the family ranch located where Rocky Reach Dam now stands. Her early years were full of bareback horseback riding, visiting with her many cousins, and working in the family orchard. Being the youngest in the family came with its benefits as her sister, Pat, remembers that Sharon always got to pick the bottom of the cherry tree while she had to pick the top! The end of each cherry harvest was always rewarded with a much-anticipated trip to Lake Chelan to swim with cousins. Sharon attended grade school in East Wenatchee, then graduated from Eastmont High School in 1962. Sharon married Calvin Anderson shortly after graduating from high school and soon began her most cherished role as a mother to Alan, and later Shelly Anderson. She was involved in her kid’s life as a Blue Bird leader, Cub Scout leader and a 4-H leader for Shelly, leading to her role as a Ring leader in 4-H judging for many years. Sharon and Cal loved boating and spent many hours cruising the San Juan Islands and many other waterways in and around the state of Washington, which soon led her to become a certified Qualified Crew Member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Sharon had many hobbies, including crafts, reading, and baking. The entire extended family always looked forward to the food she would bring to family gatherings. The cookie trays that came at Christmas were always full of delectable treats. Everyone’s family cookbooks are full of Aunt Sharon's recipes! Most of all, Sharon will be remembered for her happy, upbeat personality and especially her smile. Even after being diagnosed with MS in her early 50’s, she never lost her positive outlook on life. Sharon is survived by her son, Alan Anderson, E. Wenatchee; daughter, Shelly Anderson, Wenatchee; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Rob, and Shyla, and two great-granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Lindell, and sister, Pat Taylor; and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Pearl Lindell, and her sister, Marion Longacre and brother Glenn Lindell. Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Kings Orchard Church of Christ at 1610 Orchard Street, Wenatchee. The family would like to invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Sharon’s life, with a light dessert, following the service.
