Robert Raymond Rodin

A wonderful man, beloved and faithful husband, kind and loving father, amazing grandfather and great-grandfather, good friend, faithful servant of His Lord and savior Jesus Christ...that was Robert (Bob) Rodin. Bob went home to be with the Lord on February 1st. Bob Rodin was born in 1930 in Wheatland, Wyoming. He attended grade school and high school in Lingle, Wyoming. He went on to attend Colorado A&M University, graduating with a degree in Agriculture. He also graduated from ROTC with a rank of second lieutenant. Bob served five years in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of first lieutenant. While stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma he met and married the love of his life, Doris Voigt. After being discharged from the Army, Bob and Doris moved to Torrington, Wyoming where he went to work for Chevron Chemical Company. Bob and Doris made many friends while working for Chevron. In his 30 years with the company they moved from Torrington to Greely, Colorado, Powell, Wyoming, and Bend, Oregon before finally settling in Wenatchee. Bob retired in 1990 and he and Doris lived in Wenatchee for 41 years before moving to a retired community in Tacoma just last year. Bob will have many family members and friends waiting for him in heaven. He leaves behind his loving wife, Doris, his three children, Kathy Cady (and husband David), Kay Harris, and Scott Rodin (and his wife Linda). He also leaves eight grandchildren; Joshua Harris (and his wife Dawn), Aaron Cady (and his wife Alison), Ben Harris (and his wife Jeni), Adam Cady (and his wife Sylva), Anthony Rodin (and his wife Lisa), Jeff Harris (and his wife Stephanie), Ryan Rodin, and Lindsay Kittleson (and her husband Chet). He also leaves behind twelve great grandchildren; Kaeli, John, Madelyn, Kayden, Courtney, Mallory, Brooklyn, Logan, Jake, Hudson, Emma and Donavan. He also leaves behind many, many dear friends. Bob loved hunting, fishing, golfing and working in his yard. He had a wonderful group of golfing and fishing buddies and spent time with his son and grandsons fishing at Sekiu and Rocky Ford. Bob and Doris were very active at the Free Methodists Church in Wenatchee for over a decade and spent some of the best years of their life serving and worshiping there. Bob helped start a ministry that brought food and prayer to single mothers around the Wenatchee region. Hundreds of lives were touched by his generosity and compassion. A celebration of his life will be held at the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the single mom's ministry at the Free Methodist Church so his legacy will continue.
