Peggy Sue Pipkin

Peggy Sue "Ma/Maski" Pipkin, 71, a 44 year Malaga resident and lifelong Central Washington resident, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Central Washington Hospital. She was born on September 26, 1946 at Manson, Washington, daughter of Loy C. and Claudia Faye (Thompson) Bell. As a young child, she moved with her family to Cashmere where she received her schooling. She met Darold Abner Pipkin and they were married in Cashmere on February 1, 1963. She continued her schooling and graduated from Cashmere High School in 1964. They made their home together in Cashmere until moving their family to Malaga in the early 1970's. Peggy Sue raised her family and worked in the family orchard part time. Later, she went to work at McDougall and Sons as a Fruit Packer and later became a Packing Supervisor. After working at McDougall's for over 20 years, she went to work in the Apparel Department at Fred Meyer. She found her comfort in working in the Apparel Department and enjoyed building relationships her customers and coworkers. She retired from Fred Meyer on May 31, 2015. Peggy Sue loved family reunions and any family activities that involved her grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering at Mission View Elementary in her daughter's classroom, summer, the sun, sunbathing, swimming, boating, camping, and shopping. She cherished the times and trips to Las Vegas with her sisters. If you were a close friend or family member, she would always call and sing Happy Birthday, every year. Peggy had a genuinely kind, compassionate heart. She greeted everyone with a hug and a smile. She was a second mother to many cousins and friends of the family. She made everyone feel important, supported, and loved. She will truly be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darold A. Pipkin, Malaga; her father, Loy C. Bell, Malaga; three children, Darold "Randy" (Phyllis) Pipkin, Auburn, Dale Pipkin and his fiancé Jamie Williams, both of Wenatchee and Tammy (Brad) Savage, Malaga; four siblings, Wanda (Pete) Maxson, Malaga, Loy D. "Duane" (Kim) Bell, Malaga, Donnie Bell, Aberdeen, WA and Carla R. (Randy) Davis, Yakima; eight grandchildren, Taisha Pipkin and her fiancé Jason Dry, of Kirkland, Richie (Laila) Ader, Everett, Drew Pipkin, Alexis Pipkin and Carlie Savage and her fiancé Mason Jones all of East Wenatchee; Katie Savage and her fiancé Francisco Andrade, Wenatchee, Conner Savage and Kameron Savage both of Malaga; two great grandchildren, Aaliyah Pipkin, Wenatchee and Remani "Mani" Abram East Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Claudia Faye Bell. A Commemoration Service will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 1:00 at the Wenatchee First Assembly of God church, 1520 McKittrick Street, Wenatchee, with Pastor Jerry Beebe officiating. A concluding service and the interment will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery.
