Pauline Yolanda Bonwell

Pauline Y. Bonwell, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Paula was born on Kauai, HI on January 27, 1941 to Isidro & Carmalina (Asignar) Buduan. She graduated from Waimea High School. On August 21, 1965 Paula married a military man named Ron who was serving in the Navy and stationed in Hawaii. Paula left the islands and their children would soon follow. Paula raised three daughters. As a military wife, Ron was overseas a lot leaving the girls to be strong on their own. Paula was very proud to be the mother of three girls that grew up to be strong women with families of their own. Paula and Ron moved to East Wenatchee in 1983. Were they become very active in the American Legion Post 10. Paula was a member of the Eight and Forty Auxiliary. Paula was proud of her involvement with the ladies of the Auxiliary, often doing a lot of the crafty work with Christmas cards and decorations. Paula enjoyed the annual Crab Feed at the Legion. No one could get the crab out of the shell like she could. Paula did years of child care out of her home both for kids in the valley and her own grand kids. Kids loved Paula and Paula loved the kids. Paula enjoyed spending time with friends and family up at Lake Roosevelt at the DAHOBO Inn, a property owned by Paula, Ron and four dear friends. Paula was one of 10 siblings: Julia (Genzu) Nebesima, HI, Gail (Gilbert) Agulair, LA, Shermane (Henrey) Chu, HI, Dennis (Ophelia) Buduan, HI, Stanley Buduan (Bob), HI, Roy Buduan (Loyd) HI, Leon (Lynette) Buduan, WA, Louis (Chong Ae) Buduan, OR. Paula is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Laura & Darin Bender, Wenatchee, Darla & Troy Racus, East Wenatchee, and Rhonda & Chad Yenney, Wenatchee. Seven grandchildren; Ashlee Shrigley (Joe) Covington, Adam, Austin and Alex Racus, East Wenatchee, Emma & Maxwell Yenney and Riley Bender, Wenatchee, and one great grandson, Zaiden Shrigley and Dan & Judy Bonwell, Brother in Law and Sister in Law, East Wenatchee and several nieces and nephews. Paula was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, Ronald Bonwell and one brother, Charlie Buduan. A service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 @ 11:00am at the American Legion Post # 10 in Wenatchee.
