Mildred Isabel Asselin Eames

Mildred Isabel Asselin Eames was born to Joseph Donat Asselin and Mary Hughena ( Kennedy) Asselin in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada on Jan 20, 1920. She would have been 95 years young next month. She lived a great life, full of love for her family, friends and community. Mid was one of 5 children whom, she has joined in heaven. She passed peacefully on Dec 1, 2014 at Wenatchee Valley Hospital with her loving husband and children by her side . "Mid" grew up in Ontario & upstate NY. She married Alan Pemberton "Pep" and had four wonderful children, Sharon, Gary, Brian & Terry. There, Mid worked with Jesse Boyd as a hairdresser and where she also owned her own shop. Mid is survived by her "rock" Aerial, her loving & devoted husband and soulmate of 54 years. Mid loved making ceramics, crocheting, knitting, sewing, canning, bowling, traveling, hosting bridge parties and volunteering her time as a Pink Lady at Wenatchee Valley Hospital, where, because of her beautiful handwriting, she was asked to write condolence cards to families . In 1958, Mid and Aerial met while he worked as a civil engineer at Peter Kiewit Sons on the St. Lawrence River Seaway Project. He came into Lou & Oscars where Mom worked at her in-law's restaurant Mid & Aerial were married on August 28, 1960 in Waddington, NY. Aerial opened his heart and loving arms to Mid's three children, raising them as if they were his own. With Aerial's job, they moved every 3-4 years. In May 1963, they welcomed the twins Darin & Karen in Redding CA. From there, they moved to Oregon, South Dakota, Arkansas, Alabama, Nebraska, Florida, Washington, WV, Nebraska, and then back to Wenatchee where Mid & Aerial retired after 35 years. Mid & Aerial so enjoyed their family, if you did not find them home, you found them traveling to see their children, grand children and great grandchildren all across this great nation. Mid & Aerial also traveled extensively with the friends and members of General MacArthur's Honor Guard where they traveled to China to see the Great Wall, Hawaii, Branson, Texas & San Diego. Mid had a great zest for life. She spoke her mind, so we all knew what she did or did not like. She made us laugh, she made others laugh... which we know contributed to the wonderful 94 years she walked this earth. Mid is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Aerial G. Eames ( E.Wenatchee), her Children: Sharon Lee Giunta ( Fair Haven, NJ); Gary (& Sue) Pemberton (Jacksonville, FL); Brian (& Lynda) Pemberton ( Fremont, NE); Darin (& Terry) Eames ( Portland, OR); Karen Eames-Hernquist (La Mesa, CA). Grandchildren: Laurie Richardson, Johnny Giunta, Greg ( & Tara) Giunta, Paula Jorgensen, Dennis Jorgensen, Gary James, Robert, Deanna ( & John) Sanders, Cory (& Kim) Pemberton, Scott Eames, Kevin Eames, Jeff Eames, Tony Eames, Kate Eames, Trey Hernquist & Arielle Hernquist. Great Grandchildren: Corbin, Alexis, Erin & Cameron Richardson; Aubrey & Savannah Giunta; Isaac, Eli, Maria, Mila Jorgensen; Justin, Taylor & Kylie Pemberton & Zach Sanders. Mid is predeceased by her son, Terry Pemberton, her parents & her brothers Hayden & Bernard & sisters Gert & Evelyn. Services will be held Saturday December 6, 2pm at Heritage funeral home- 19 Rock Island Rd. E. Wenatchee, WA 98802.
