Michael T. Jester

Michael T. Jester, 63, of the Stemilt Hill area of Wenatchee, a former Ardenvoir and Sunnyslope area resident, passed away on Wednesday night, December 15, 2010 at his home on Stemilt Hill. He was born on November 13, 1947 in Long Beach, California to Johnny Page and Patricia (Stubblefield) Jester. He was raised in Texas until moving to Long Beach, Ca where he attended Jr. high and high school. He graduated from high school and continued his education by attending some college before entering the workfield. He entered the U.S. Army in December in 1966 and later received a medical discharge. He worked a number of jobs before starting to work with his father, Johnny Page Jester, while he was in his mid 20's. He worked with his father as an apprentice learning the masonry and brick layer trade before going out on his own. He helped in the construction of the Victor Valley Mall in Victorville, CA, and he also worked with his father constructing a spiral fireplace in the home of Charlie Pride in Dallas, Texas. He worked in the masonry trade and made moves with the jobs that took him through the south to Dallas, Texas where he became the contractor for many of the Flying J Truck Stops in the south. He later moved to Florida where he had a 10 acre parcel and worked his way up through to the Seattle area. He moved to the Cashmere area in 1992. He later moved to the Ardenvoir area before moving to Sunnyslope. He had met Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Sykes and they were later married on April 5, 2003 in Wenatchee. They moved to make their home in the Stemilt Hill area of Wenatchee in 2004. Michael was a very spontaneous person, he loved people and never met a stranger. He loved horses and the rancher lifestyle. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca L. "Becky" Jester, Wenatchee; seven children, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Hall, Texarkana, TX, Michael Jester, Colorado Springs, CO, Chara (Robert) Beightol, Clarksville, TN, Stephanie Jester, Colorado Springs, CO, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Jester, Dallas, TX, Johnny Jester, Dallas, TX and Michelle (Jordan) Frank, Wenatchee; four step children, James Parker, Michael Parker, Kristina Schmidt and Heather Schmidt all of Wenatchee; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Paula & Scott Nielson, Rogers, Arkansas and Kathryn Elrawshdeh, Apple Valley, CA; 18 grandchildren, 2 step- grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 16 nieces and 10 nephews. His nieces and nephews include Alia Elrawshdeh, Paul Casarez and Ameera Terry all of Apple Valley, CA and Carrie, Nicky, Amber, Kimberly, DeeDee and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Mason Jester and his nephew, Wyatt Nielson. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 1354 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee on Tuesday, December 21st at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Sterk officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
