Mary Ann Henry

Mary Ann Henry went peacefully on July 5, 2017 to be with the Lord and the angels she adored so much. She was surrounded by those closest to her and near and dear to her heart in her last days and final moments. Mary Ann was born December 2, 1935 to Frank and Mary (Scheurman) Merrick in Entiat, Washington. They later move to Port Orchard, where she attended schools and was majorette in high school. Ste attended the Lutheran church and was baptized on September 11, 1949. She love those years growing up in the woods in Port Orchard on the farm, though it was hard, she was a country girl at heart, and wanted dearly to go back one last time. Mary Ann met and married Bill Henry in Port Orchard on December 7, 1953. Bill, who was serving in the military, had his family with him wherever he was stationed. They made their first home in Seattle, and while here, welcomed their son, Billy Jr., then to San Francisco, Kentucky, where daughter Tammy joined the family, Paris France and Texas. Later when Bill was sent overseas, Mary Ann moved with her kids to Monitor, WA to be close to her Mom and Dad. Mary Ann found employment with Goodwill Industries, and throughout her 20 plus years, she worked her way up to Assistant Manager; enjoying every minute with the other employees. She enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing up the Entiat, watching for deer, and Oh, and the bear! The ocean was her greatest enjoyment so trips there were particularly special. In 1997, Mary Ann moved to California with Bill and they were once again reunited in marriage. Mary Ann and Bill traveled extensively in their motor home seeing sights like the Grand Canyon, Grand Ole Opry, Graceland and the state of Texas but destinations to the ocean and especially Morro Bay was always their favorite. Mary Ann also loved playing games on her computer and chatting online during the games with her daughter and trying to understand what "lol" meant, she never really got the hang of it. Her daughter was her world and visa versa, her last months were spent living with her. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry, Frank Jr. Stanley; sisters, Margaret Jane, Ella Louise; daughter, Debra Lynn Henry and husband, Bill D. Henry. Mary Ann leaves behind her son, Bill Henry Jr (Cheryl); daughter, Tammy Aviles (Marco); beloved sister, Edith Marshall; grandchildren, Matteo, Carlos (Panna), Kristina Cortez and Karissa Henry; great grandchild, Jesse Henry; sisters, Esther St. Claire, Judy Cichy; brothers, Ken Merrick, Jim Merrick and numerous nieces and nephews.
