Lolita B Peterson

Lolita B. Peterson, 64, was laid to rest on December 7th 2013 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 1, 1949 in the Philippines to Julio & Maria Cortez. Sadly, once in America she lost contact with her family. In 1973 she became a US Citizen, something that she dreamed of since childhood. In 1974 she met and married Duane Peterson, together they made their home in Goldendale WA and then Wenatchee Valley. Duane passed away in May 11, 1990. Lolita worked in various fruit warehouses in the valley as a sorter. In 1996, while visiting with a friend, she met Roger Grisson. The introduction didn't go well. Roger learned quickly that she spoke her mind and no one was spared the "Truth". She informed him that he was the "Ugliest Man in the World!" and next time they met he had better of shaved his beard off. Roger, on the other hand thought she was the"Most Beautiful Women" he'd met, "with long black hair; and a red rose tucked behind her ear". The second meeting wasn't any better; Roger still had his beard and she told him "I give you one last chance". So he did, he shaved. History was made, they've since been together; to the very end. She immediately became a "Loving Mother" to four stepchildren. She loved to fish, not "Catch and Release" because whatever was caught was considered "Winter Food" along with the bounty of her quarter acre garden, (in kindness of Verley Dobson) and she made sure that her grandchildren knew how to clean them as well as eat them. Time with her family was very important to her and she passed on her heritage to them with loved recipes including her stir fry secrets. She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Peterson and niece, Heather Best. She leaves behind husband, Roger Grisson, Entiat; step children, Aaron (Laura) Rogers, Bridgeport, Garth (Shanowa) Rogers, Wenatchee, Darci (Joshua) Sax, Entiat, and Zane (Tasha Welch) Grisson, Wenatchee; brothers in-law, Alan Peterson, East Wenatchee, Darrold "Pork Chop" (Bobbie) Best, Wenatchee, Tony (Cindy) Grissom, East Wenatchee, Jefrey Best, soap Lake; sister in-law, Janice (Jerry ) Rogers, Boise, ID; 12 grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha, and Brianna Rogers, Seth, Anissa and Necia Sax, Garth Jr. and Cole Rogers, Kelly, Tasia, Serenity and Shania Grissom and her pet goose, Jesabel. The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later time.
