Julia Anne Noble-Barnes

Julia was born in Seattle, WA on January 2, 1965 to Sandra Whitley and Roger Noble, joining her older brother Neal. Her elementary school years were spent in Auburn and Lake Tapps, and she attended Pe Ell High School, participating in baseball, basketball and track and graduated in 1983 with honors. Following graduation she attended Centralia Community College, then the University of Washington where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Her daughter Cassie was born in 1989 and together they moved to Wenatchee in 1992. Daughter Claire joined the family in 1996. In 2008 Julia married Jeff Barnes and she assisted in his thrift shop business of antiques. Julia's passions included gardening. She especially enjoyed roses and herbs and grew unbelievable tomatoes. Early in life she taught herself to sew and embroider and also play the clarinet. Among favorite activities were hiking Saddlerock and in Colorado with her daughter and mother, and bicycling around Wenatchee. During her adult life Julia struggled with many serious health problems and in July of 2015 she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which progressed to plasmatic leukemia. Despite fighting a courageous battle, her health declined and she passed away March 25, 2016, Good Friday, surrounded by family. She is survived by husband, Jeff Barnes, East Wenatchee; daughters, Cassandra Noble, Bozeman, Montana and Claire Noble, Edmonds; mother, Sandra Whitley, Wenatchee; father, Roger Noble, Issaquah; brother, Neal Noble, Auburn; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; devoted high school friends, Roberta, Lisa and Caryn; and long time friends Michael and Steve. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Floyd and Frances Whitley, and Sherd and Laura Noble and cousin, Kelly Brown MacIntyre. The family wants to express special thanks to the Hospice team and caregivers. The love shown by them and her many family members and friends were a comfort to Julia during her most difficult days. She greatly appreciated their visits, calls, cards, bouquets and thoughtful gifts. Celebration of Life Service will be held May 14, 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 941 Washington St., Wenatchee.
