Joan Louise Clark

Joan Clark, aged 93, died peacefully on November 7, 2014 in Wenatchee, WA. Joan was born April 13, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Ivan Noble and Jenny June (Fox) Paschall, both deceased. Joan grew up in Ohio and attended schools there until graduating from Worthington High School. She married Osburn Kenneth Logsdon (deceased) on November 22, 1941. They had two children; Kendred O. and Peggy Louise. That marriage ended at the end of WWII. Joan, with her pioneering and fearless spirit set off for Twisp, WA in a 1940 Plymouth with her two kids and a dog, to care for an aging couple that had been long time family friends and needed some help through a medical crisis. During this time she met and had a whirlwind romance with Jacob Clark of Twisp and they were married on July 21, 1953. They had three boys; Ivan, Mark and Jay. Joan and Jacob later moved to Cashmere and finally settled in Wenatchee in 1967. Joan became a real estate agent until retiring in 1980. She was a care-giver for many years and also became the "Mother" to grand-daughter Heather in 1996. She was a staunch Republican, an avid reader of everything political, a devoted Mariner fan and a shopper extraordinaire. She loved to follow her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sport endeavors. She was unable to attend the games, but followed their accomplishments by reading the Wenatchee World from front to back every day. Joan was the epitome of a positive thinker. She only acknowledged the good in people. If someone said a bad word, she would whistle. It was her way of letting them know that was not acceptable. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Jacob Clark; brother, Noble Paschall; sisters Joyce (Paschall) Whitted and Gwendolyn (Paschall) Howard; daughter Peggy (Jim) Lemaster; and grandson Mark Andrew Clark. Joan is survived by her sons Ken (Diane) Clark, Ivan (Colleen) Clark, Mark (Patricia) Clark and Jay Clark; her grandchildren Laurel (Mark) Pritchard, Brett (Marcia) Lemaster; Tina (Steve) Tidd; Christopher (Trisha) Clark, Tim (Sandy) Clark, Peter (Misty) Clark; Molli Clark; Duell Clark; Heather Clark (Justin Childress); and 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. There will be no services held. A private family gathering will take place to celebrate Joan's life. "I love you a bushel and a peck".
