JANICE A. WILSON The beautiful woman that we had the honor to call Mom passed away peacefully on April 30, 2018 with her girls at her side. Janice was born on December 20, 1933 in Wenatchee, WA to Alvin W Asher and Bessie Louise Hanan Asher. She grew up on the family ranch in the Entiat Valley and attended Entiat grade school and high school, graduating in 1952. Following graduation, she married Gene Wilson and they made their loving home in Waterville. The two of them shared their love for 65 years before Dad's passing in August of 2017. As four daughters joined the family, we all were introduced to camping at Lake Chelan for many weeks of the summer. After getting camp set up, Dad would often commute back to Waterville to work and Mom kept the campfires burning while trying to herd the four of us! Winters were spent at the Badger Mountain Ski Hill where we all learned to ski with Dad while Mom worked in the lodge. The family unit loved experiencing life together. After the girls flew the nest, Mom and Dad headed to Alaska and lived there for a short time before returning to the Wenatchee Valley where they continued to reside. She had worked in retail and then in Douglas County Clerk's office for many years, ending her career as bookkeeper for Gene's Auto Repair, their own business. Mom was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, the Wenatchee Senior Center, St Lazareth Guild and Ladies Auxiliary #3617. Mom was a beautiful seamstress and knitter. She prided herself in making many of our clothes, including the "beloved" matching outfits for Christmas and Easter! We all learned from her and continue to use those gifts in our own lives- minus the matching outfits! She continued to knit right up until the time of her passing. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and grandsons, Shane Jackson and Kellen Biggar. She is survived by her four daughters, Lori (John) Shimek, Chris (Rod) Biggar, Kim (Tom) Hohl and Jacque (David) Dear. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Lindsey (Mat) Lystra, Doug (Kaye) Jackson, Zachary (Katy Beloof) Jackson, Erin Shimek, and John C Shimek, along with her darling great grandchildren, John Jackson, and Carter, Eli, Sawyer, and Beau Lystra. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life. She loved to spend time with them and each had a special relationship with her. Services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in East Wenatchee. Private burial will be held.
