Janet Isabel Collier

Janet I. "Jan" Collier, 69, a longtime Wenatchee area resident, passed away at Central Washington Hospital on July 14, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born in Waco, Texas to parents Clyde and Isabel (Bortz) Cruver, while her father was serving in the Army Air Corp. At the age of two the family moved to Entiat, WA, where she was raised and received her schooling. She graduated from the Entiat High School in 1962 and continued her education at Wenatchee Valley College, where she studied business. She moved to Wenatchee where she met Lee Don Collier, they were later married on March 18, 1967 in the Entiat Federated Church at Entiat. Together they made their first home in Wenatchee. They moved to Bellingham in 1973 and returned to East Wenatchee in 1976. In 1988 they moved to Burlington, later moving to Mt. Vernon. They returned to Wenatchee in the fall of 2000. She worked several jobs throughout the years including Transamerica Title Company, Bell Telephone Company, Cascade Natural Gas and Washington State Department of Transportation. But she found her favorite job to be as a Tupperware Manager which allowed her to be out meeting new people, socializing, and selling a product she loved. As a child her parents worked in the orchards Janet was taught to do the household meals, which grew her love of food and cooking. She enjoyed playing games and gathering with family and friends. She enjoyed people and had a number of special friends that over the years have become her extended family. During earlier times, she liked camping and going fishing. She was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in East Wenatchee. She was a member of the River City Good Sam Club and the Apple Country Snowmobile Club. She is survived by her husband, Lee Collier, Wenatchee; daughter, Jana (Kris) Bryan, Wenatchee; step children, David (Tera) Collier, Oklahoma City, OK, Lorrie (Tim) Eaton, Tuttle, OK; sister, Nancy Belt, East Wenatchee; grandchildren, Shalea Daniels, East Wenatchee, Timber Jackson, Tuttle, OK, Lucas Eaton, Tuttle, OK, Jarrett Collier, in Boot Camp at Fort Jackson, S.C.; great grandchildren, Brielle Jackson, Averi Jackson, Libby Eaton of Tuttle, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Justin Lee Collier, in November of 2002. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, July 20th, 11:00 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1050 Eastmont Avenue, East Wenatchee, WA.
