Evelyn June Fender

Evelyn June Fender 78, of East Wenatchee, WA entered heavens gates on January, 10th 2016. A celebration of life will be held in the spring when the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. Pictures and memories can be viewed and shared at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com. She is remembered in life for her kind heart, fighting spirit and love of life. Her childhood was spent on the family farm in Canada with parents, two brothers, a sister and many friends. In her twenties she began her teaching career in Surrey, BC but shortly after she met the love of her life, Lloyd Fender, and moved from Abbotsford, BC to the United States but remained forever proud of her Canadian heritage. The next chapter of her life began in the States, where she became a loving mother to her three daughters. The next several years were spent raising a family and making lifelong friends following her husband's career with Peter Kiewit throughout the western states and Alaska. Evelyn had a gift for making a home wherever she was and she raised her daughters to be just as strong-willed and feisty as she was, or so their husbands say. In retirement, together with her husband they enjoyed traveling the world, spending winters in the South and enjoying time with her beautiful family. Evelyn spent a lifetime battling multiple health challenges, but never allowed the struggle to affect her fighting spirit. She was able to beat the odds and fight the illness for longer than any patient her doctor had ever treated. She was her "miracle patient". Through pain and weakness, you would not hear her complaints; she was not one to feel sorry for herself, but one to look at the bright side of all circumstances. Her endless will to never give up was an inspiration to all those who knew her, and her unwavering optimism will be the legacy she leaves behind. Evelyn always took the time to stop and smell her beautiful roses. She found her greatest joys in life traveling with her husband in their RV, making memories with their Peter Kiewit friends, playing cards and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son-in-law. She will forever be in the hearts and memories of her surviving husband Lloyd, daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Lee, Terresa (Shane) Watson and Kathy (Lonnie) Weatherley and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her spirit will be carried on by all who were inspired by her incredible life.
