Eskild R. Larsen

Eskild Runer Larsen March 3, 1927 - December 16, 2019 East Wenatchee, WA Eskild Runer Larsen was born on March 3, 1927. He was the third and last baby boy born to his parents, Peter and Rosa of Denmark. Eskild was a third generation Adventist. His father was a farmer and physical therapist as Skogsborg Sanitarium, the Adventist school where later Eskild and Iris graduated as PTs and then got married and moved to America. Life was hard in 1942, Eskild lost his dad to kidney failure. During Eskild's early teens, he struggled with his relationship with Jesus. He chose to wander away from the biblical principles his parents taught him, but that didn't last long, as he always held onto the Sabbath as the true day of worship and when he met Iris, she helped him realize how much he needed God completely in his life. In 1951 Eskild and Iris boarded the ship Queen Elizabeth and came to America. Eskild's dream of a better life was soon to come about. They went to Battle Creek, Michigan first, but the employment that was promised to Eskild fell through so Eskild and Iris loaded up the few personal items they owned and headed west to sunny California. Eskild was hired at Loma Linda and then went to work at Kaiser Rehab in Santa Monica, California and that's where they settled and started their family. David was oldest son, born in 1953, and daughter, Ann, was right behind him in 1954. Eskild and Iris began to get homesick for Denmark and felt they needed to go home to be sure they wanted to stay in America or move back home. It didn't take long for them to realize it was America they wanted, so in 1957, while still in Denmark, Jack the last of their children was born. Eskild loved life. He loved to waterski, swim, ride motorcycles, cars, gardening, but his most loved hobby was sailing. Eskild owned about three sailboats and even shipped one to Denmark to enjoy with a friend and take the family sailing when they would vacation. Eskild became a grandfather for the first time in October of 1989. Heidi spend a lot of time and him and Iris. Sarah arrived in 1990 and then Heather in 1991. He was so delighted to know he called Far Far. He loved his granddaughters so, so much. Eskild and Iris lived in Southern, California until 2003 and moved to north Sacramento where their son David and family lived. Then in 2008, he and Iris made their final move to Washington state. They loved the four seasons and the abundant fresh fruit that is always available. In 2017 Far Far and Far Mor became great-grandparents to Austin Ryan. They were both always so excited to see him and watch him grow into a wild child. Austin would always bring huge smile to Far Far, even at the very end when he didn't feel the best. The last picture take of him is when Austin got in bed with him and they played cars together. Eskild Larsen, Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather can never be replaced. He was a mighty servant of God and truly knew who Jesus was and understood God's plan of Salvation. Eskild and Iris Larsen wanted to live as long as possible, but more importantly, to see Jesus come again. Even though they are sleeping for a little while, they both will be waiting for all of us, family, church family, and friends to join up in Heaven with them. Oh, what a wonderful day that will be! A Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Brandon Korter, will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at the Valley View Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 1201 10th St NE, East Wenatchee, WA 98802. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
