Dorothy Arlene (Hosley) Lloyd , Ms. Fashion Lady always dressed in sparkles whether it was jeans and cowboy boots or dresses and heels, always with jewelry to match, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at the age of 83. Dorothy Was born in Washington, Kansas on December 3, 1938, but grew up in Centralia and Cathlamet WA. Where she met her soul mate Donald J. Lloyd. Together they moved to Wenatchee WA. In 1962 where they lived for several years before moving to Yakima WA. living there until Donald's passing in 2006. Missing her family decided to move back to Wenatchee to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren remaining there until her passing. While first living in Wenatchee she went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell as a telephone operator until transferring when they moved to Yakima where she continued working for the phone company until she retired. Dorothy loved to be active and believed in community service. She belonged to many service clubs including Eagles, Elks, American Legion, Lions, Telephone pioneers, Red Hat Society, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved lending a helping hand whenever needed. She was amazingly artistic whether it was helping create and decorate for events or her phenomenal talent as a seamstress, which she shared by teaching numerous sewing classes. She really loved making costumes and enjoyed nothing more than a great costume party. Above all, Dorothy loved and cherished her family. Being 1 of 10 children, nothing was more important to her than staying close to her siblings, and her growing interest in genealogy had her studying and researching both sides of the family. She loved to travel, as long as it included meeting new family or connecting with old ones. She never missed a family reunion and her husband Donald started an annual corn feed as an excuse to join everyone together for a time of fun, laughter, and most importantly to stay connected. Even with Dorothy's love for extended family, it was definitely known that her pride and joy were her 6 grandchildren and her 13 great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than being called "Grannie" By each and everyone of them. Dorothy is survived by her beloved daughter Cyndi Thatcher, Son Kevin S Lloyd, Siblings Patti (Bill) Shannahan, Sara Richards, Larry (Teresa) Hosley, Howard (Jean) Hosley, Don (Corina) Hosley Grandchildren Syrina (Cary) Melton, Elyssa (Cohen) Barsten, Kylie (Kyle) Nelson, Derek Kirmil, Lauren Kirmil, Justin (Alex) Wareham, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Donald J Lloyd, daughter Colleen D Lloyd and siblings Elwin Hosley, Marjorie James, Robert Hosley, Jay Hosley.
