D. Ray Sartin

The morning of November 18, 2015, the last "I Love You" and "Goodbye's" were said to Ray, as his family sat at his bedside and let him go home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Denzel "Ray" Sartin was born March 2, 1936, to Jesse Warren Sartin and Edris Fern Klopp in Yakima, WA. He attended school in Selah and Zillah and in May, 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the destroyer, USS Trathen, DD530, as an electrician. He was stationed in the Pacific for four years; with two tours of duty to Japan and Taiwan. He married Rose Marie Walery in August, 1959 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Salem, OR. They had three children born in Salem - Randy, Teresa, and Anita. Ray worked for Skyline Ford. In 1966, they moved to Tukwila, WA where Ray went to work for the Boeing Company as an electrician. Later he worked for the Coca Cola Company in Bellevue and when weekends and vacations permitted, they enjoyed boating in the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands with their family. He was a member of Poverty Bay Power Squadron. Ray retired in 1991 and when Rosie retired in 1996, they moved to Ocean Park, WA on the Long Beach Peninsula. When they weren't traveling the United States in their fifth wheel, they enjoyed their home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In the spring of 2014, they moved to Wenatchee where they could enjoy the four seasons. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Marie; children, Randy (Wendy) Sartin, Meridian, ID, Teresa (Darren) Ahlf, Lacey, and Anita (Mike) Behrbaum, Auburn; four grandchildren, Nicole Sartin, Bremerton, Paul Sartin, Boise, ID, Rick and Sierra Ahlf, Lacey; great grandson, Bryce Chapman, Bremerton; siblings, Warren Sartin, Kennewick, Pauletta Paxton, Missoula, MT and Karen (Dick) Hagemeier, Black Diamond. A Memorial Service and Mass will be on November 27, 2015, 10:00 am at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in East Wenatchee. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggest memorial donations be made in his name to either: Central Washington Hospital Home Care and Hospice, 1020 N.
