Connie Lynn Scott

Connie Scott, 59, a 30 year Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her home in Wenatchee, following an extended illness. She was born on July 16, 1954 in Seattle to the late Robert William and Lula "Lorene" (Lilley) Lawson. As a young child they moved to Yankton, SD, where she was raised and received her early education. She attended the nearby Gayville-Volin High School and graduated as the Valedictorian of her class in 1972. That summer, she met Lilbern "Les" Scott and they were later married on November 1, 1974 at Abilene, Texas. They made their first home together in Abilene for a few years before moving to Lubbock, Texas, where their first two children were born. In 1984, they were enticed to move to Wenatchee by Connie's brother, Jerry. They have since continued to make their home in the Wenatchee Valley. From 1989-2000 Connie served as the Children's Minister at King's Orchard Church of Christ. During this time, she also attended Wenatchee Valley College and received her A.A.S degree in Early Childhood Education. She owned Noah's Ark Christian Childcare from 2000-2003. She worked at St. Paul's School as the Director of the Day Care from 2003-2004 and for 2004-2009 as Children's Director at the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church. She remained at this position until ill health forced her to retire. She was a member of the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed children, crafts and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Les Scott, Wenatchee; their three children, Heather R. Scott, Wenatchee, Trey Scott, Seattle and Jeff M. Scott, Wenatchee; her step-mother, Reva Lawson, Wenatchee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry & Judy Lawson, Wenatchee and William "Bill" & Patti Lawson, Coleharbor, ND and two sisters; Nancy Lawson and Laurie Lawson both of Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Scott Lawson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church, 1601 5th Street, with Pastor Bob Lenderman officiating.
