Bruce D Gray

Bruce Gray December 11, 1933 - November 6, 2018 East Wenatchee, WA Our incredible father, grandfather, and dear friend, Bruce Gray, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2018. Bruce was a significant part of all our lives and we will miss him tremendously. Bruce moved to Wenatchee, WA, in 1936, at the age of three, after traveling by train from Saginaw, MI, with his mother and six siblings. He joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served our country in the Korean War. After his service, Bruce returned to Wenatchee and married his life partner, Verna Gray, in 1954. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage together before Verna passed away in 2012. Together, they raised two children, Dale Gray and Judy Gray-Higgins. Dale graduated from Eastmont High School in 1974 and currently resides in East Wenatchee, where he is employed at the T-Mobile Data Center. Judy Gray-Higgins graduated from Eastmont High School in 1979, and currently resides in San Clemente, CA, where she is a partner at Deloitte Consulting. To his granddaughters, Chelsea and Casey Higgins, Bruce was known as "Papa." He was an active and supportive member of their lives and he attended countless soccer games, graduation ceremonies, and birthday parties during his many visits to California. Bruce resided in East Wenatchee and retired from Chelan County PUD after 30 years of service, where he worked at both Rocky Reach and Rock Island Dams. Bruce was a generous and kindhearted neighbor - without hesitation, he aided his friends and family with outdoor, electrical, and plumbing work. He loved to stay busy and constantly contributed to the well being of others. On any given day, one may find him getting his hands dirty outside with his faithful dog, Barney, by his side. If he wasn't elbow deep in a project, he would be having a long conversation over a cup of coffee with one of the many people that loved him dearly Bruce is survived by his son, Dale Gray; daughter, Judy Gray-Higgins; son-in-law, Maxwell Higgins; granddaughters: Chelsea and Casey; and brother, Jack Gray, a longtime resident of East Wenatchee. He was a beloved uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee, WA, with Pastor Dallas Stringer officiating. The service will continue to Evergreen Memorial Park, 1301 NE 10th St., East Wenatchee, WA, with a formal veteran ceremony. A family and friend gathering will be held at Bruce's home, 2200 S.E. 8th St., E. Wenatchee, WA, following the Service. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
