Bill Epoch

Bill Epoch January 6th,1956- September 30th, 2024 Bill Epoch, age 68, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. Bill was born on January 6th, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington, to Wilbert and Wilma Epoch. Bill was the son of a navy man who moved his family from bases in Bremerton, WA, Hawaii and Puerto Rico to name a few. Together with his siblings Stephanie and Gary, they settled in Poulsbo, where their childhoods were filled with countless adventures living on the banks of Hood Canal. Upon Bill’s graduation from North Kitsap High School, he entered the Air Force where he was stationed in Virginia. Bill found his passion for surveying while studying Forestry at Wenatchee Valley College. After graduating from Oregon Institute of Technology with a degree in Surveying, Bill went on to have a distinguished 30 year career as the Douglas County Land Surveyor. Bill was a man who deeply loved his family. Bill and Sue were married in 1985. Jennifer was born in 1979, Travis in 1989 and Amanda in 1992. After purchasing their home in East Wenatchee their lives were full of kids, grandkids, dogs, cats, horses, cows and the elusive ostrich along with much love and laughter. He taught his children to look for and appreciate the simple things in life and embrace the joys of just being outside. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. Whether it was hunting and fishing with his brother, camping with his kids and grandkids, or riding his Harley-Davidson, Bill was truly in his element. The family camping trips were legendary and formed lasting memories for his children and grandchildren. He also had a gift for photography which started early in life. His photos ranged from wildlife, scenery and sporting events which triggered the conception of Panorama Plus, a business that existed for many years. Bill was known for his quick wit, kindness, patience and generosity. He had a smile that could change the way you saw the world. He took on life with a positive attitude that never faltered, even through his illness he never lost that. His smile was still present, his humor was still there, the prankster was still there. He lived his life in a way that is an example for all of us. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sue; his children, Jennifer Cornea and husband, Justin, Travis Epoch, Amanda Epoch with partner Salvador Preciado; grandchildren Caitlynn, Isaac, Evan, Dylan, Brennan, Tate and Liano; great grandchildren Carter, Melanie, Rose, Kingston and Everly. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Epoch and wife Lori McAllister and numerous nieces and nephews. Sue’s siblings and extended family loved him deeply and also mourn the loss of their brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Stephanie. Bill’s love for his family, friends, and the world around him will be remembered forever. A celebration of life will be held on October 22, 2024, at Circle 5 Winery from 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association in his honor.
